Weird weather this week, but it looks like it will be really nice tomorrow for the group rides. TO and I are working on the 5 Segments for our Tour De SYV TT in July. With some new twists to the event, such as a time bonus if you do all 5 segments in a day, we are calling it the La Funk Time Bonus…. Look out for a dedicated email next week with all the details and information on how to sign up. Our first TT of the year was a huge success (30 Riders), and the next one will be even better! We had a great turn out this week on Wednesday after the ride for drinks, and Mike Hecker and Frazer had some great stories to keep the group entertained!
Normal Rides this week:
Wednesday Ride (March – Mid-November)
Start: 4:15p
Duration: 1.5hrs
Where to meet: Solvang Park on Mission Dr.
Description: Three alternating routes of approximately 30 miles. Pace runs 18mph to 20mph. Several regroup points. Routes sent out on Strava each week. Meet once a month after the ride for drinks.
Saturday A Ride
Start: 9:15am
Duration: 2.5hrs
Where to meet: Solvang Park on Mission Dr.
Description : Route Rotates between the Valley Loop, and Brinkerhoof, Calzada and Fig Mountain Road Out and Backs, pace 18-19mph avg. Details on Strava as well. Usually 50 miles
Saturday B Ride
Start: 9:05am
Duration: 2.5hrs
Where to meet: Solvang Park on Mission Dr.
Description: This ride is not a “hammer ride”. It will be led as a “no-drop”, 14-16 mph group ride. This pace may change depending on the route and the riders who show up. The plan is for this to be a fun, intermediate, social ride, where we can stop for coffee/smoothie after or close to the end of the ride.
We have some extra SYVCC clothing if you missed out on the orders this year.
