| SYVCC see details from Club Member Darren Potter about his upcoming Ride.
Once again there will be a wonderful opportunity to ride your bike along the scenic seaside of Goleta and Santa Barbara. On May 2nd there will be a very fun bike ride that concludes with a bbq at Goleta Beach. We start at Goleta Beach and ride through the neighborhoods of Hope Ranch and Montecito. Some will aspire to climb the heights of Gibraltar Road while others will be happy to pedal a loop around the Santa Barbara area and return to Goleta Beach.
Goleta Beach Park has a great firepit and cooking area perfect for BBQing and terrific ocean (and island) views.
Darren is proud to keep the price steady at $10 with heaping plates of food (hamburgers/salmon burgers/veggie burgers). The traditional menu of veggie (Black Bean burger), Fish (salmon burger), and hamburger will all be the same price as previous years. $10 covers the ride and wonderful BBQ. What is new is the T-Bone Steak Option. Weighing in at over 2 lbs. this sizzling colossus will be priced at $25 Sides will be corn on the cob (if in season), yellow potatoes, grill peppers. etc.
This starts at 8:45 AM on Saturday May 2nd at Goleta Beach and is sponsored by Amgen’s Velogen cycling club. And they are very welcoming to other cyclists of neighboring cycling clubs so here is a chance to meet new people while pedaling with old friends.
Let me know if you are interested in the best meal on a paper plate you will eat this year. Will you choose the sizzling colossus of cholesterol steak option, or the still delicious hamburger, salmon burger or veggie burger option. Enjoy the seaside scenery and ocean air while the grill sizzles.
Bike and BBQ Ride– $10 Goleta Beach Park May 2nd (Saturday) Arrive 8:45 AM, BBQ at 12:30

Ride Options
Laurie Leiman will be leading the Goleta Loop thru SB Harbor and Montecito to East Mt. Drive and depending on pace of group, going up to Sandpiper Golf Course and back to Goleta Beach
Thompson Ogilve will follow the same path until East Mt. Drive will ascend Gibraltar and then back on Painted Cave to the base of OSM. Then either out to Sandpiper or back by the sideroad shortcut. Unless they are super fast I think the short cut will be used.
The third option is people who want to meander at their pace and go where their nose leads them. They tend to not travel far and so far no one has expressed interest in this type of route.
This should be a popular ride. Always fun to finish a vigorous ride with a great meal. Please RSVP early as this could fill up early.
Please reach out to Darren Directly, this is not a SYVCC organized Ride
