Hello SYVCC. Look out for the Teams for our last TT of the year later this week and the results link. We can still add riders, so let TO and I know if you want to be on a team. We have 30 signed up so far. We will be doing the group TT segment the first two Saturdays of September, and for the WNR those two weeks as well. The 2nd Wednesday of September we will probably start the ride at 4p and meet after for drinks. 🐂 2025 Vuelta a SYV 🐂 – Join a Team! ¡Hola Amigos! As we approach the end of summer, it means the final SYV grand tour is right around the corner – the Vuelta a SYV. Get ready to ride two segments for the Vuelta this year, one individual and one team. The Vuelta will begin on September 1st and end on September 14th. Make sure to fuel up on Jamon Iberico and Patatas Bravas because we need you on a team! Sponsoring the Vuelta a SYV this year is Firestone Walker Brewery. Each participant (must be 21) will receive a cerveza to enjoy during their siesta after the Vuelta ends. Aging like a fine Tempranillo, these cans of beer have been on ice in the cooler from our summer cookout. ¡Muy refrescante! For the team awards, riders on the first place team will win a $20 Dr. J’s gift card, second place will win a $10 Dr. J’s gift card, and the third place team will win a $5 Dr. J’s gift card. On the individual side, the 🟥 Maillot Rojo 🟥 (a $25 Dr. J’s gift card) will be won by the male and female rider with the fastest overall time of the 2 segments. You are responsible for your own safety. -Be a good representative of cycling in the valley (be courteous to drivers) -Strava is our source of truth for these competitions. You will need to have your effort uploaded to Strava, so make sure your GPS bike computer is charged, or have your strava app track the ride. -No drafting on the individual segment, only the team one. -In the last few TT’s, the winning teams have been separated by less than 30 seconds, so it’s always really close. -Encourage your fellow SYVCC Members
