Hello SYVCC Looks like a great weekend of weather coming up for riding! Our club analytics department is diligently building the Giro De SYV TT teams…. We need 3 more riders to have 30, 6 teams of 5. The teams are designed to be even, so no matter how fast or slow you feel, the teams will be balanced and all have a chance to do well and have a great time. All club members are welcome to join a team. Come out and give it a try, it’s a great way to meet other club members and have a lot of fun. Teams will be announced this Sunday night. Upcoming Club Team TT Our May TT Giro De SYV will be May 13th to May 27th. The Fig MTN to Neverland Segment you can ride with others, and Alisal is a individual segment you ride alone. We will most likely do the Fig MTN one next Wednesday and again on one of the Saturday Group Rides. See the links below to get a idea of the start and end points. The Alisal one Starts near the end of the Rodeo Arena, you go out to the T at the stop sign and turn around and ends at the end of the straight away coming back past Nojoqui. Here is the start and finish map for this one. https://maps.app.goo.gl/LnfdGg7B7YqQh5D2A https://maps.app.goo.gl/HE8i2tNYAZYKLUBe6 The Fig Mtn Neverland Segment starts at First Street, and ends about 30 feet before first street on the way back One of the best ways to know exactly where you are on the segments is to Star the segment on your phone and it will synch it with your bike computer. Also below are start and end google maps of the Alisal Segment. https://www.strava.com/segments/7305832 https://www.strava.com/segments/6888152 Email Jeff or Kirk if you are in thomsonjeff@msn.com kirknordgren@gmail.com – For the Segment you can ride with others, it doesn’t have to be the other riders on your team, it can be anyone that is participating in the TT. -If you want to see who has done the route that week, click the weekly view tab on Stava for that Segment -Ride the TT course at least once (May13th to May27th) or as many times as you want. -Upload your ride to Strava (you must have a GPS cycling computer OR use the Strava phone app to record your ride) As a general reminder, here are a few rules we need to adhere to: -be safe! you are responsible for your own safety -Encourage your fellow SYVCC Members -be a good representative of cycling in the valley (be courteous to drivers) -time yourself with Strava if you want to see your results -no drafting on the Individual segment, only the team one. Everyone is encouraged to participate! Good luck!
