Tour De SYVThe Tour De SYV is right around the corner. It starts on July 1st, and you have the whole month to ride each segment as many times as you want. This has become one of the clubs most popular events, and we hope for a great turn out. We encourage all members to sign up.  The teams will be balanced, so no matter how fast or slow you feel you are currently riding, sign up to join a team! Teams will be announced on June 30thThe Prologue and Stage 3 are individual stages, the rest you can ride with others. The Saturday Rides and the WNR rides will do the group ones a couple times. The Stages:

    • Prologue –  Alamo Pintado to top of Dermanak – for the puncheur; 1.8 mi / avg 0.6% grade
    • Stage 1** – Roundabout to Roblar – for the sprinter; 8.5 mi / avg 0.2% grade
    • Stage 2** – Alisal from Fjord to top of climb – for the climber; 3.9 mi / avg 2.3% grade
    • Stage 3  – Zaca Station/Foxen from 154 to 154 – for the TTer;  7.2 mi / avg 0.2% grade
    • Stage 4** – The Queen Stage – Foxen to top of Zaca Mesa – for the GC contender; 7.9 mi / avg 1.6% grade

The Rules:

  • Complete all 5 segments at least once, in any order, any time in July  (they have to be on Strava)
  • Stages 1, 2 and 4 are exempt from the normal “no drafting” rule; riding with friends/teammates/rivals is encouraged on these stages
  • The “no drafting” rule still applies for the Prologue and Stage 3.  These are true TTs.
  • Each rider’s time will be totaled for all 5 stages (using their fastest time for each Strava segment during the month of July).  The winning team will have the lowest combined time for all team members
  • If a rider doesn’t complete a segment, they will be assigned a TBD time penalty which will be factored into the total team time (as an example, the time penalty for skipping the Prologue might be 15 minutes)
  • Be safe, have fun, and cheer on your fellow riders!
  • Must use Strava for your time to count
